Work for Cator
Meet Cator. Cator lives with his wife and two beautiful children in Port-Au-Prince. He has a spinal cord injury and is paralyzed from the waist down. He uses a wheelchair to get around, however, in Haiti this is a very difficult task. Nothing in Haiti is handicapped accessible. There are no sidewalks, the streets are rocky and uneven, and he is unable to access most buildings due to the lack of ramps. Additionally, Cator has several health challenges that he continues to deal with. He has trouble finding and paying for his catheter supplies. Due to his spinal cord injury, he also has to check often for pressure areas. Last year, he developed two stage 4 pressure areas. Through your support, we were able to provide the needed catheter and wound care supplies needed to keep Cator healthy and alive.
Cator has been trained in sewing and embroidery and we have been able to donate sewing machines and supplies to him. He is proficient in making handmade neck-ties as well as wheelchair and walker bags. He is also teaching other members of Team Zaryen how to sew and embroider. Being able to pay for housing, provide meals and pay the annual tuition to send his children to school is what is most important to Cator and the other members of Team Zaryen.
Our goal is to help people with disabilities like Cator start and maintain a business so they can support themselves and their families.
This is how we make a difference at Community Rehab Project. We hear of people in need and through the power of our group, we make a tangible difference around the world.
