Cator’s Family

Description

Cator’s family lives in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  Their family consists of Cator and his wife, Ramele, with their beautiful children, Oliver and Christal.  A few years ago, Cator sustained a spinal cord injury and is paralyzed from the waist down.  He uses a wheelchair to get around, however, in Haiti this is a very difficult task.  Nothing in Haiti is handicapped accessible.  There are no sidewalks, the streets are rocky and uneven, and he is unable to access most buildings  due to the lack of ramps.  Even worse, Cator and his family could to not find an apartment they could afford that was on the ground level. They now live in a second story apartment and he is unable to get in and out on his own. His family has to carry him up and down a full flight of stairs in his wheelchair in order for him to get out.  Needless to say, he is not able to leave his apartment often.  Additionally, Cator has several health challenges that he continues to deal with.  He has trouble finding and paying for his catheter supplies.  Due to his spinal cord injury, he also has to check often for pressure areas.  Last year, he developed two stage 4 pressure areas.  Through your monthly support, Cator will be able to obtain the needed catheter and wound care supplies needed to keep him healthy and alive.   Being able to pay for housing, provide meals and pay the annual tuition to send their children to school is what is most important to this family.  Your monthly sponsorship will help make this possible.
